Christi's Breakfast Bake

Ingredients:

6 red potatoes cut in half and sliced about 1/4 in
1 can of Spam (I know but trust me)
4 Sausage Patties Chopped coarsely
10 Eggs
1/4 Cup sour cream
garlic salt
Pepper to Taste
Canola Oil
Tsp. Butter
1 Cup or so of Sharp Cheddar Cheese

Directions:

Preheat Oven to 375, and spray a 9X9 inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray, I like Pam.
Heat up large skillet with oil and butter, I like to use butter in my oil for extra flavor. Put Potatoes in to brown sprinkle them with your garlic salt takes about 15 minutes or so. Add chopped meats and continue cooking for another 5 minutes or so. While your waiting take a large bowl and wisk your eggs and sour cream together, I add just a touch of water to make them fluffy.

Use a slotted metal spoon and move the meat and potato mixture to the baking dish. Pour the egg mixture over that hot mess and top the whole thing off with cheese. Bake in the 375 degree oven until bubbly and butter knife inserted in center comes out clean, about 45 minutes. Enjoy! I serve this with Hot cinnamon rolls, My husband loves it!

Homemade Lotion

Finally! A homemade lotion that I can use throughout the day without my skin feeling like a grease pit! As a family, we usually go through several bottles of lotion during the cold, winter months. But, I must say that I have been generally unhappy with the homemade recipes I have tried in the past for several reasons: Many recipes contain borax (love borax for cleaning, not so much on my skin). They’re just to greasy. Like “can’t hold on to anything” greasy. Some recipes involve ingredients that are hard to find. And the lotions I find on store shelves are: super expensive they don’t work ladened with chemical preservatives that I’m not okay with For all of these reasons, I decided to continue on my quest for the perfect non-greasy homemade moisturizing lotion. I’ve finally found it and now, as always, I’m sharing it with you!

  Gather the Ingredients
-1 cup aloe vera gel
-1 teaspoon vitamin E oil
-3/4 ounce beeswax, grated or broken into small pieces
-1/2 cup almond or grapeseed oil -1 tablespoon cocoa butter (I added this for a slightly more luxurious lotion during the winter, but this is optional.)
-10 drops essential oils of choice (optional)

Directions: With a makeshift double boiler, over low heat, melt beeswax and oils.

In a medium-sized bowl, combine aloe vera gel, vitamin E oil, and essential oils.

Pour the melted oils into a blender and allow them to cool to room temperature. This is a vital step in order to prevent separation. Once cooled, with blender on low speed, slowly and continuously pour in aloe vera mixture. Run a rubber spatula aganist the sides of the blender to incorporate all ingredients. Blend until the mixture has the look and feel of lotion. Note: This step may also be performed in a mixing bowl with the use of a handheld electric mixer.

Pour the lotion into sterilized jars. You can use sterilized canning jars if you have them on hand. I keep a jar on the bathroom counter and one in the refrigerator. The lotion will keep for up to 6 weeks in the refrigerator.

Go Crazy for these Natural Hair Treatments!

You don’t need to buy the priciest conditioners on the market to moisturize and revitalize your hair — just whip up a wonderful homemade hair mask from ingredients you’ll find right in your kitchen. The bonus? These all-natural moisturizers add softness and shine to your hair without using a single chemical. Here’s how to get started.
Go bananas. Bananas make a wonderful hair mask when blended with an egg, three teaspoons each of honey and milk, and five teaspoons of olive oil. Massage the mixture onto your hair and scalp and leave it on for a half hour before you shampoo it out.
Egg yourself on. Scramble two eggs with two teaspoons of water, then work the mixture into damp hair. Let it soak in for 15 minutes before you wash your hair.
Get a little honey. A sweet conditioning mask mixes equal parts honey and olive oil. You’ll need to rub the mask into your hair and wrap your locks in plastic wrap. Shampoo after 30 minutes.
Oil up your scalp. Make a mask from two eggs and five teaspoons of olive oil and massage into your hair and scalp. Let it sit for a half hour before washing it out.
Try a little avocado. Mix mashed avocado with a teaspoon each of olive oil and honey, then apply to your hair. Leave the mask on for at least 20 minutes, then wash it away.
Get some fruit. Grab a bunch of your favorite fruits. Put a half a banana in a blender with one-quarter each of a cantaloupe and an avocado and two tablespoons of yogurt. Apply the mixture to your hair for 15 minutes before you shampoo.
Mix up some strawberries. Mix a cup of strawberries, an egg yolk, and two tablespoons of olive oil in your food processor, then work it into your hair. Let it soak in for 20 minutes before shampooing it away.
Put a little mayo on it. Thicken your hair while you condition with a hair mask made of mayo. You can use plain mayo, or mix in a few teaspoons of Epsom salts and a beaten egg. Either way, let it sit in your hair for a half hour before shampooing. (The mayo also makes a killer defrizzer.)
Go a little nutty. Almond oil can also help defrizz your hair. To make a hair mask, combine a ¼ cup of honey, a ½ cup of yogurt, and a tablespoon of almond oil, then work it into your hair from root to tip. Leave it on for 20 minutes before you shampoo.
